Job Title: Executive Director
Compensation: $30,000-$35,000
Part-time. 20 hours per week. Hours are flexible.
Some evening and weekend work will be necessary.
Location: Robbinsdale Area Schools District, Minnesota

The Executive Director Role
The Executive Director is a key management and operational leader of Seven Dreams Education Foundation (SDEF). The Executive Director oversees the organization's operations, programs, and fundraising. Other key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, marketing, strategic planning, and community outreach. The Executive Director reports directly to the Board of Directors ("the Board").

Fundraising

  • Lead SDEF's fundraising efforts.
  • Broaden and diversify funding sources (contributions, sponsorships, targeted events, grants, etc.) to improve the Foundation's fiscal sustainability.

Community Engagement and Partnership

  • Build strong relationships with the Robbinsdale Area Schools district community, staff and School Board to support the future of SDEF.
  • Enhance SDEF's image by being active and visible in the community and working closely with other professional, civic, public and private organizations.
  • Work with board members to strengthen relationships with community, parent and alumni groups.
  • Ensure relevant marketing, communications and outreach.

Leadership

  • Advance strategic goals and work with the board to implement plans and develop resources necessary to support the mission of SDEF.
  • Work with the Treasurer and Executive Committee to create the annual plan and budget. Implement the annual plan with the Board.
  • Work with the Executive Committee to develop engaged board of directors and committees.
  • In collaboration with SDEF board members, recruit and train new board members who are diverse across geography, ethnicity, and expertise (interests, age, etc.).

General Duties

  • Provide overall operational oversight for SDEF under the direction of the Board and consistent with SDEF's mission, goals and policies.
  • Responsible for day-to-day operations for the foundation and other duties as assigned.
  • Oversight of remote office staff and volunteers.
  • Operate within the approved budget and ensure maximum resource utilization.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of CRM software, including Bloomerang and Constant Contact.
  • Knowledge of fundraising platforms, including QGive or One Cause.
  • Successful large-scale and small-scale event planning.
  • Knowledgeable about website management.
  • Established connections within the Robbinsdale Area Schools boundaries, including businesses, civic organizations, city government, and school district staff.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: non-profit, community outreach, fundraising, volunteer coordination, and marketing.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Skills to collaborate with and motivate board members and other volunteers.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to interface and engage diverse volunteer and donor groups.
  • Strong public speaking ability.
  • Proficiency in social media.
  • Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Google applications.
  • Passion for public education.
