Salary: £119,467 to £133,558

We are now looking for an exceptional leader to join us as Director of Housing Strategy and Homelessness to help us continue to make Hackney a place where everyone has access to quality housing and support when they need it most.

In this senior leadership position, you will take strategic responsibility for some of the most critical functions in the borough including Homelessness Prevention, Housing Needs and Benefits, Housing Strategy and Assurance, as well as Private Sector Housing. At the heart of this position is your ability to develop and deliver effective and impactful housing strategies that address the diverse and complex needs of Hackney's residents. You will be leading services that support vulnerable groups, tackle homelessness, and provide secure housing solutions for those in need.

Hackney is a borough where housing challenges are significant but so too are the opportunities. As Director, you will be responsible for leading efforts to prevent homelessness, improve the quality of housing across all tenures, and ensure the provision of temporary accommodation and supported housing for those who require it. You will also play a crucial position in shaping and delivering housing strategies developed in partnership with local communities, internal stakeholders, external partners, and elected members, you will play a crucial role in driving the Council's housing priorities while ensuring that our services continue to meet the evolving needs of our residents.

To succeed in this position, you will have broad and demonstrable experience and knowledge of current housing issues and how they relate to local government. You will have a strong track record of developing and implementing housing policies and solutions, leading and inspiring large teams to push the boundaries on what is possible and managing complex budgets. In addition, your ability to engage with key stakeholders, work collaboratively in a political environment, and build meaningful partnerships will be crucial to your success.
