South Norfolk Council and Broadland District Council are delighted to share the details of our opportunity for an Assistant Director for Individuals and Families to join our Senior Leadership Team, in a role where you make a tangible impact on people's lives. This pivotal position centres around leading our range of services that support our communities who are most in need. It is a genuine opportunity to utilise and build on your current Leadership experience to make a real difference to our residents.
You will play a key role in developing and influencing relationships and opportunities for collaboration with our partner agencies to prevent crises and support the most vulnerable in our districts. Using demonstrable leadership skills, you will empower the teams you lead to achieve high levels of performance in their respective objectives which all ultimately aim to support those in times of greatest need.
The areas under your responsibility include Homelessness and Rough Sleeping, Benefits, Housing Standards and our multi-agency Help Hub, Social Prescribing and Hospital District Direct Teams.
By leading and building on the existing operational delivery of these key services, alongside developing the longer-term strategy, you will ensure that we are able to proactively identify and work with the people who need support, ensure that they are provided with a home or a place to sleep, that their financial wellbeing is supported, and that they are safe, independent and warm. The ongoing level of demand will require extensive collaboration with our partner agencies to determine creative solutions.
About You
You will bring with you a creative and innovative approach to developing and utilising credible and trusting partnerships. We are looking for someone ambitious and unafraid to challenge the status quo.
More than ever, this role is about the person and their ability to relate to the circumstances our residents find themselves in, and thereby their ability to proactively drive and support solutions that consider their needs. This unique role is about you as an individual, and your ability to influence outcomes in these critical areas of our organisation. Therefore, all relatable and transferable experience from within any sector or background will be considered.
Our ideal candidate will have a proven track record of consistent and demonstrable achievement at a senior level within an organisation of comparable scope and complexity. With proven success in leading and empowering cohesive and engaged teams across the whole service area, together with experience of applying commercial judgement, the ability to demonstrate working effectively within a political environment would be an advantage.
We look forward to receiving your application to join this exceptional team.
Why Work With Us?
You will be joining a fantastic, progressive organisation with benefits that include flexible working hours for most office-based roles, free onsite car parking, employee discounts, a competitive holiday allowance, wellbeing initiatives and the opportunity to sign up to the contributory Local Government Pension Scheme.
